Rose Gold Avengers Finish Line

Meet The Avengers!!

No, not those ones... .

In January 2019, Rose Gold Warrior was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time, the first time being 15 years ago. It was a battle she fought hard and won. It was not a battle she thought she would have to fight again.

This time she is a mother, a wife. She is older and a bit more… curvy. She is ready to fight once more.

Cancer is a disease that does not discriminate. It doesn’t think “oh I’ve already been to you I’ll try someone else.” It doesn’t think “oh you’ve had some shit in your life, I’ll leave you alone.” It doesn’t think “would you like to be bald on your wedding day?”

It is evil, it hides, sometimes until the last minute, and then, if it gets its own way, takes you from your family, your friends and your life.

Everyone at some point in their life will be touched by cancer in some form, whether it be themselves, family or friends.

We decided we wanted to support Rose Gold Warrior and help her fight cancer. We decided to take the battle to it.

Rose Gold Avengers were born.

You may be sensing a theme…

As part of our support, we ran Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life in July 2019 in St Albans. Most of us ran 5K, some showed off and ran 10k.  RGW walked and then ran to the pub.

This was not something that the majority of us did in the normal course of life.  We do not really exercise, we do not run on a regular (annual??) basis, so we knew entering this Race would not be easy.

Also RGW made us wear matching t-shirts.

But we did it.  We raised over £3,500.  A huge sum that will go towards helping to kick Cancer’s butt for ever.
